Spice Up Your Water
Do you have a hard time meeting the daily recommendation for water?
The biggest thing I struggle with on a daily basis is drinking sufficient water. Honestly, I just find it plain and boring. I make it my mission, everyday, to ensure I consume at least 2 liters. The days I workout, I try to get a total of 3-4 liters. I set my goal low enough to achieve it, but big enough so it will challenge me.
The other day, I found these crystal light packets my mom bought. I added a little to my water bottle, and I have to say that it was delicious. I also try to add either lemon or vitamin c powder to my water. I like to use Emergen-C.
It's import to keep in mind that the methods I use to overcome my barriers may not work for you.
Remember, there's no one way of achieving a healthy lifestyle. There are a variety of approaches you can take. Find the one that works for YOU. Tackle ONE problem at a time. You want to focus on making long-term changes. We all struggle with something, no one is perfect. Find a friend who is going through the same barriers as you. Make a plan to get through it together.
If water consumption is an issue or you're just trying to spice it up, try adding this to your water:
- Fresh fruit(s)- Either chunks or mash it.
- Mint leaves
- Crystal light
- Splash of unsweetened juice
- Green tea
- Any other sugar-free mixes
- Hot tea
